Day 17 – Mastering Awareness Skills
Today’s meditation teaches us that when we return our awareness to the present moment, we use a type of skill – an awareness skill. This skill incorporates our attention span, ability to focus, and the capacity of awareness to go deep, all at the same time. This awareness technique is not a mental practice, rather it is the conscious relaxing or letting go of the resisting mind. When we have mastered these awareness skills, we are able maintain our awareness in the present moment even in the midst of everyday demands and pressures.
