The Sounds of Silence

The trees, the flowers, the plants grow in silence. The stars, the sun, the moon move in silence. Silence gives us a new perspective.

Blessed Mother Teresa(gratefulness.org)

Well, I love Mother Teresa, and and I love the sound of wind blowing through the trees. And I think there is a sound of the Universe - AUM! There is also the story of the meditator/scientist who was looking for "Pure Silence" , and he heard that Harvard had an acoustically proved baffled highly insulated sound room that could provide him with the guarantee of no outside noise. He meditated in that room and was surprised to find that he was disturbed by the noise of his own stomach, heart, and even blood flow. So he knew that as long as he was in his body, he would not be able to find "pure" silence.

Om ओ३म्or About this sound aum (written universally as ; in Devanagari as ओं oṃ [õː], औं auṃ [ə̃ũ], or 'ओ३म्' om [õːm]) is a mystical Sanskrit sound of Hindu origin, sacred and important in various Dharmic religions such as Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism. The syllable is also referred to as omkara (ओंकार oṃkāra) or aumkara (औंकार auṃkāra), literally "om syllable", and in Sanskrit it is sometimes referred to as प्रणव (praṇava), literally "that which is sounded out loudly".
