"You know why trees smell the way they do? Stars. Trees breathe in starlight year after year, and it goes deep into their bones. So when you cut a tree open, you smell a hundred years’ worth of light. Ancient starlight that took millions of years to reach earth. That’s why trees smell so beautiful and old."

Cedar and Eucalyptus Trees are two of my favorites. When I visited California a few months ago, and got out of the car in the Marin Headlands, the smell completely wonderfully opened up my sinuses - I had forgotten what it was like to be around a lot of big Eucalyptus trees! In fact, when living in California, many of us were kind of prejudice against these aromatic trees. Since they were not native, we considered them to be "big weeds" and smelt like "cat piss". But ,boy, this time I really appreciated them.
