Grateful for Rumi

Let yourself be silently drawn by the strange
pull of what you really love.
It will not lead you astray.

Gratitude is an Antidote to Greed (Aided by Meditation)

Anatoly Petrenko - Gratitude is an antidote of greed - which never lets you rest and experience abundance.

  • Ron Alexander Thanks Anatoly Petrenko, you are such an inspiration. I imagine your Outdoor Healing work includes a lot of hiking and climbing?

  • Anatoly Petrenko Yes, Ron. Yet whole life is a practice no matter what your body is doing. Fine tuning awareness of present moment thinking is the goal. To get a taste of it, sometimes is necessary to isolate from compulsions of tasks and reshuffle priorities.
From a perspective of a calm mind vistas appear much clearer!

  • Ra Divakar Yes Sir! Every day, every hour, every moment (there are 60 seconds in a "moment", so I do take some breaks - a few seconds anyway - lol)

Ron Alexander In other words, Anatoly Petrenko, meditation is an awesome practice for
  •  incorporating gratitude?
  • Anatoly Petrenko We're meditating all the time. What we're meditating on is up to us to notice. A TV commercial is a form of meditation, since it is repeatedly broadcast with intention to be set in in the mind of a viewer.
If you intentionally meditate on gratitude, you will create an effect mirrored in physical phenomena — a deeper satisfaction with your place in the world and a line of destiny that you draw on the canvas of your universe.

    GRATEFULNESS, THE HEART OF PRAYER

I highly recommend this book. Although listed as Christian, Brother David is a fav. of the Zen Buddhists also. In fact, I went to a lecture of his at a Zen Monastery in Ca. (Green Gulch). The Zens love his... simplicity and beautiful aura. He has a very simple Jesus Mantra meditation, he teaches too.
There is a fabulous website dedicated to his work called Gratefulness.Org.

A monk reflects on the many aspects of the spiritual life with the basic attitude of gratefulness.

Anatoly Petrenko - This is a great activity Ron! And I dearly appreciate the pure intention behind it — that is to increase positive thinking of faith in ones mind which results in the experience of genuine happiness. Thank you! _/♥\_

    The Key to Unconditional Love

The key to love is to love unconditionally without expectations of reciprocation. This can and will make many people uncomfortable because they believe in conditional love and don’t know how to handle unconditional love. They can learn but the process starts within ourselves as we learn we may be the key to others doing the same, but it need not change our choice to love unconditionally.
When you ...are truly accepting and loving of yourself, your energy vibrates at a higher frequency, and people definitely notice this shift, even if they can't see it, they can feel the difference. You attract new people, situation, and relationships into your life. When you love yourself, you invite others in to love you and take the journey with you! Treat yourself well, love self, and then see others follow your lead."
