Rev. Ed Kozak's thought of the week.

THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK
Several folks have asked for the thought of the week to be a recap of Sundays lesson sometimes. So here it goes:
Soteriology is the study of salvation. In Unity, we are saved when know our at-one-ment, our oneness with God and each other. And then we talked about the eastern version of salvation nirvana, which is not necessarily a state of bliss though it can be. It comes from the word for "to blow a candle out". And what are we blowing out but the attachment we have to desires, clingings and aversions, which cause us so much pain. Observing those nonjudgmentally is the way out of the pain.
You are already saved if you're working on yourself and your oneness with God and others. It's not always easy, but definitely worth the ride because moments of oneness and nirvana can be so blissful, or at least growthful and rewarding.
