Why I feel so strongly about Digital Storytelling

I feel so strongly about this work, as so many vets. can be helped by telling their stories. My latest idea is to have story-telling stations at VA Hospitals. We had them at an event led by Robert Bly and Matthew Fox, when I was in San Francisco at a workshop for homeless Viet Nam vets, which comprised about 80% of the homeless there then. I think nationwide the percentage of homeless is now 75% and they are committing suicide at a tragic rate of 22 per day! To understand more about vets and their issues about coming home read ANGELS IN VIET NAM by John Wesley Fisher and RISE by Daniel Rodriquez (in both Iraq and Afghanistan). I am passionate about this purpose! Blessings, Ron

 Hi, Ron:
I watched this video several times over 2 days, trying to fully
appreciate it.  It is a poignant and deeply moving tribute to your brother,
Barry. It certainly affirms his life and service.Your devotion to and love for
him is a witness to the man he was and the brother you still are to him today.
Yes, Spirit is the word.
Thank you for sharing. It helped me,
too.

Sincerely, Nancy
Davis
Ron Alexander Dear Debbie, I am pro-peace! A great activist actor Martin Sheen says that our country is collectively to addicted to violence - that we send our soldiers all over the world for our "interests". He is particularly scornful of Cheney, who he says led us (and Bush by the nose) into war just for the oil, and to make his corporation rich. I remember him saying that "we wont have to pay for the war, their oil will take care of that." I agree with you Debbie that Cheney is a psychopath. However, I think that most vets. and soldiers are really innocent - pawns of fat white greedy power-hungry rich men. However, I think the ATSD diagnosis needs to be pursued, as it is not really well known. And "secondary" ptsd may be diagnosis for those of us who are affected at home. "War definitely follows soldiers home." Let's write a book about it!
Ron Alexander Always see the innocence behind the pain... this is where the compassion creates love This is especially true for soldiers, vets and their families!
