Denali - was Mt. Mckinley but originally Denali






... we are officially renaming the mountain Denali in recognition of the traditions of Alaska 
Image for the news resultI was stationed in Alaska in 1968-69 and it was Denali then. Only in Ohio are they mad about this, and of course this is just another attempt to make Obama look bad by Faux Opinions.

  • that is Wonder lake 30 miles from the base. I camped there in 1969. And because of the heavy clouds (a usual condition), I could not see the big mountain. As I was watching, a moose carrying her baby on her back swam across the big lake. My buddy and I were watching for the peak near sunset hoping the clouds would part, Finally they did, but we were looking at about 30 degress, and I pointed out the peak at about 45 degrees - that was an impressive sight!
