Julie Noble Santacruz: The draping of fabric is absolutely incredible! Such skill! I took a bunch of Humanities courses in college and learned that Michelangelo stated that the blocks of marble spoke to him and guided him to 'free' the underlying form. It was difficult to understand this belief until going to Italy and seeing his works in person. Much like this statue, one can see the feeling of freeing the block's inhabitant. Beautiful. Thanks for sharing, Gaille.
The fabric just makes this sculpture that much more sensous!
