Happiness Starts Within

Effie Aghili: Beautiful message...(((♥)))
Valerie Stiehl: SO TRUE! WE CANNOT EXPECT OTHERS TO MAKE US HAPPY. ANYONE WHO IS IN
OUR LIFE IS IN ADDITION TO WHO WE ARE. IT DOES NOT MAKES US WHO WE ARE.
BLESSINGS. ♥
Ra Divakar: I need reminded of this often!
Anatoly Petrenko ‎Ron something more practical: "you" = single present moment thinking. There's only one thought at a time. At that level, there's a possibility to choose our thinking (with training), which becomes the source of our happiness (positive thinking) and condition for others happiness. Or our suffering (negative thinking) and condition for others suffering. So when we aim for happiness or mindlessly create suffering for ourselves, we could remind ourselves that it provides conditions for others. Interdependence.
Ron Alexander So how would you word that "reminder" Anatoly Petrenko. I have great respect for you, however I have no idea what you are taliking about?
Anatoly Petrenko I'd probably phrase it like this to give a person a real handle of application: ... "Remember Happiness starts with your positive thinking, Not with your relationship, or your friends, or your job. Even though all those could be a condition for your happiness, source of your genuine happiness is your positive thinking."
Ron Alexander Thanks Anatoly Petrenko, I really appreciate your thoughtfulness. However, somehow "positive thinking" does not go deep enough for me. I think beyond cognitive there has to be some words that convey emotions and somatics. I tried positive thinking since reading Norman Vincent Peale in my teens, and it did not work for very long period of time. "Incorporate" somehow seems an important word. How about "Remember happiness starts with your incorporating positive thinking - bringing positiveness into your whole psyche. It does not start with your relationship, or your friends, or your job. Even though all those could be a condition for your happiness, source of your genuine happiness is your incorporating postive thinking."
Anybody want in this thoughtful dialogue (no discussing - dissing & cussing)!
