Dear Editors, Mar. 11, 2008
Why does diesel fuel costs higher than gasoline? Diesel fuel has historically been a good bit cheaper than gasoline. It costs less to produce, because diesel comes out of refinery process before gasoline. Diesel fuel is the lifeblood of our commercial/industrial transportation. Prices I have seen lately has diesel running at $3.83/gal., while gasoline is $3.23/gal. Two local friends, one with fishing boats and the other with service trucks are close to losing their businesses, because of these inexplicably high diesel fuel prices. Store prices are going up daily. Truckers are threatening a nationwide strike. People hurt the most by rising prices in all stores are the middle class and those in poverty. Aren't there war profiteering laws? Call or write your local congressman.
Yours sincerely,
