Compassion - Where Does it Come From?

The whole idea of compassion is
based on a keen awareness of the
interdependence of all these living beings,
which are all part of one another,
and all involved in one another.

Thomas Merton

Oh Ron, sorry sorry! You need lots of TLC and rest which I imagine are difficult during an eviction, something that can cause one to feel ones world is coming apart, disorientation and a whole lot of stress of different kinds. Do you know where you're moving to? Do you have people who can help you physically? This is such a time of hard tests, of pushing our metaphorical faces into what we say we believe in, of bringing out fear and weaknesses. It seems that the more awareness there is, the more opposites are bombarding one. I'm going through mine too, fast and furious. You are allowed to share your ongoing physical status with us, so please do. Herewith lots of virtual hugs and light Gene A.

A mind beyond judgements watches and understands. Buddha

"Many know that the drop merges into the ocean, but few know that the
ocean merges into the drop."
Kabir

If you see good in people, you radiate a harmonious loving energy
which uplifts those who are around you. If you can maintain this habit,
this energy will turn into a steady flow of love.
Annamalai Swami

Every single act of love releases blocked energy in your body.
Unconditional love heals the body and the mind. Keep reminding yourself
of this truth until it becomes your reality. Love is a frequency that
you can choose to tune into, just as you tune into a frequency on the
radio.
~ Nagarajan Subramanian

You are such an ocean of Love, That you have no boundary. The desire
man and woman Feel for each other, Is only a drop from that ocean...

All is a treasure - sweet & bitter! Need do Nothing?

~Thank the great Spirit within for all That life brings. All is a gift; the sweet As well as the bitter. All is for your Growth, freedom and celebration. Be happy. This is blessedness.~ - Mooji -..

em>We can only be said to be alive in those moments
when our hearts are conscious of our treasures.

Thornton Wilder (gratefulness.org)
Ra's add - And the best "treasures" are not things.

Ron Alexander: ‎"The best things in life are not things." anon(I think?)

I know these metaphors appear to be mixed, however I am confused right now on what to do in my life in a critical time. I am supposed to be evicted by my own family "trust" around Christmas time. I have been talking to lawyers, and they don't give me much hope except for a possible future suit against trust and other benefactor (who unjustly almost got everything).
Spiritually, probably the best "advice" "I need do nothing"!???Need do NO THING!

The Dalai Lama's 18 Rules For Living

My fav. is "The best relationship is one where your love for each other exceeds your need for each other." however all 18 are great!
At the start of the new millennium the Dalai Lama issued eighteen rules for living.

1. Take into account that great love and great achievements involve great risk.
2. When you lose, don't lose the lesson.
3. Follow the three Rs: 1. Respect for self 2. Respect for others 3. Responsibility for all your actions.
4. Remember that not getting what you want is sometimes a wonderful stroke of luck.
5. Learn the rules so you know how to break them properly.
6. Don't let a little dispute injure a great friendship.
7. When you realize you've made a mistake, take immediate steps to correct it.
8. Spend some time alone every day.
9. Open your arms to change, but don't let go of your values.
10. Remember that silence is sometimes the best answer.
11. Live a good, honourable life. Then when you get older and think back, you'll be able to enjoy it a second time.
12. A loving atmosphere in your home is the foundation for your life.
13. In disagreements with loved ones, deal only with the current situation. Don't bring up the past.
14. Share your knowledge. It's a way to achieve immortality.
15. Be gentle with the earth.
16. Once a year, go someplace you've never been before.
17. Remember that the best relationship is one in which your love for each other exceeds your need for each other.
18. Judge your success by what you had to give up in order to get it.

You Are the Eyes and Ears of Source

Twelve Insight Journal
You are closest to your source when you allow that energy to flow through you and outward into your matrix of being. There is no other purpose for which you have been designed. In the stillness, in the silence, you are at One with the core of your being—your eternal being, Greater Self.

But Source doesn't go anywhere without you. And we don't mean that in the sense that Source Being is a separate entity who might wander off and abandon you. We mean that in the sense that when you are in motion, Source Being is moving with you and when you are still, just breathing, Source Being is just breathing with you, as you, one with you.

Now we used the word "motion," and we wish to clarify. You are in motion whenever you think thoughts. We mean the motion of your mind as well as movement of your emotions and physical body.

Source Being, All That Is, is radiating outward in a joyful, expanding, circle of light; a multidimensional sphere of expansion. And you represent—as yourself—one multidimensional sphere of expansion as well. You have your own bubble of creation going on there, and it is vital to the totality of All That Is. You are unique and irreplaceable.

While you are here focused into what seems like a single point of reference, some of your ideas are ego driven—that is, driven by a limited point of reference. This too is an essential part of the process. Energy, source energy, creates nothing until it is channeled. Energy must be confined like the expanding gases that move your car, before it can go anywhere.

That's your job, focusing the energy. You are the focuser. You are the channel. It is the limitedness of your physically focused being that allows this expansion to take place. And it is your conscious choice to connect with Source Being that gets the whole thing energized in the first place. So fill yourself with love, light, and energy first each day, many times a day, and then decide where that energy should flow. You are the eyes and ears of Source.

Namaste, Powerful Creators!

Does Happiness Come from Winning?

Last night, my team unexpectedly won, and they won big. I was very excited, delerious with "joy". I could not sleep my adrenalin was so high. My mind played the game over and over again. I was drunk with "happiness". Fantasizing sports victories was an important coping mechanism growing up in an abusive family. However, in meditation and prayer this morning, I came to a Peaceful Place inside that was much more pleasurable. It was a feeling of equanimity, security that comes with the connection of the Eternal Within, that is so much more preferable than the fantasy games. I don't want that Internal Eternal Peace disturbed whether my team wins or not.

Joy - Infinite & Eternal -
"Joy is the realization of our oneness, our soul's oneness with the supreme love." Rabindrath Tagore

"Joy is what happens to us when we
allow ourselves to recognize how
good things really are."
Marianne Williamson

Pleasure - short-lasting - ephemeral
- addictive

Joy - from Being
"Joy does not come from what you do, it flows into what you do and thus into this from deep within you." Eckhart Tolle

Lydia Porter: Happiness is fleeting, Joy is eternal. They are not same. I celabrate happiness when it comes and remember it as it goes. Joy is what I know when I pause to appreciate , it lasts as long as I continue to value my space in the universe.

Ron Alexander Great response Lydia.!
Ra Divakar: Here are winners: Some people have a wonderful capacity to appreciate again and again, freshly and naively, the basic goods of life, with awe, pleasure, wonder, and even ecstasy.

Now, Being of Free Will, I Choose Loving Healing Thoughts

How great it is for me to get up early in AM, read some spiritual literature, meditate & pray and come up with some inspirational writing for myself and hopefully radiating outwards. May all Beings realize their Divine Freedom and choose peace and happiness. Metta, ron

Prayer of Saint Francis of Assisi

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury,pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
and where there is sadness, joy.

O Divine One, grant that I may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life. Amen

I Choose to see The Light in Every Person, Every Situation Today

The heart is right to cry even when the smallest
drop of light, of love, is taken away....You
are right to do so in any fashion until God
returns to you.

---Hafiz, translated by Daniel Ladinsky
The Gift: Poems by Hafiz

I can see in the midst of darkness, light persists. Hence,
I gather that God is Life, Truth, Light. God is Love. God is the
Supreme Good.

---Gandhi

I destroy the ignorance-born darkness by shining the lamp of wisdom.
----The Bhagavad Gita

Then shall thy light break forth. ---Isaiah 58:8
