Hopefully going on healing trip to Viet Nam next year?

For those interested in the COREVietnam 2014 Journey (I am awaiting pictures) just want to let you know they (9 strong) arrived safely in Hanoi after the long plane travel (14 hours from Los Angeles). Ahn, Guide Extraordinaire, greeted them... with his now legendary (in our minds) arms and hearts wide open welcome! After checking into their hotel in the historic French quarter, near the lake where John McCain's helicopter was shot down, they toured the area in Cyclos enjoying an exciting up close and personal tour of this historic beautiful area. (Cyclos are like rickshaws.) John said everyone had a blast, lots of laughs and adventuring with this novel but fun way to 'break the ice' on their first day.
Remember Vietnam time is 13 hours 'into the future'. So when we are going to sleep they are arising for the next day already! Kind of mind blowing. Yesterday John wrote me that they had an incredibly memorable day at the
famous Perfume Pagoda, located about 2 hours outside of Hanoi. After the bus ride, they transferred to a boat, taking them on a spectacular 45 minute ride "that meandered through a mountainous range of jungle covered limestone"….John wrote continuing with…. "that alone made the trip worthwhile, but then the pagoda and at the top of the mountain a deep cave with monks chanting, resonating throughout! A very memorable day!"
Thank you so much for your prayers and loving support. So appreciated, and I know making a difference. This photo actually came from our trip last year using in lieu of the new ones coming. It was taken outside a sweet Buddhist nunnery and orphanage outside of Hue. Quan Am (the Goddess of Compassion, Protector of Children, Healer of Fear) rises up out of the garden. Statues of her (along with Buddha…) are everywhere in Vietnam. More news as it arrives…and pictures. Remember you can go to Paula DaPore Griffin's TuDu Peace Village page and sign up to receive her updates via her blog by submitting your email address.
Awesome, hopefully next year for me, I think going to the place in Vietnam where my Brother was shot down in his Medi-evac helicopter would be very healing for me! I did think John McCain was shot down in his Fighter Jet though? ron
