The woman who should have one the Nobel Peace Prize

Please share this remarkable story of courage...

During WWII, Irena, got permission to work in the Warsaw ghetto, as a Plumbing/Sewer specialist. She had an ulterior motive.

Irena smuggled Jewish infants out in the bottom of the tool box ...she carried. She also carried a burlap sack in the back of her truck, for larger kids.

Irena kept a dog in the back that she trained to bark when the Nazi soldiers let her in and out of the ghetto. The soldiers, of course, wanted nothing to do with the dog and the barking covered the kids/infants noises.

During her time of doing this, she managed to smuggle out and save 2500 kids/infants. Ultimately, she was caught, however, and the Nazi's broke both of her legs and arms and beat her severely.

Irena kept a record of the names of all the kids she had smuggled out, In a glass jar that she buried under a tree in her back yard. After the war, she tried to locate any parents that may have survived and tried to reunite the family. Most had been gassed. Those kids she helped got placed into foster family homes or adopted.

In 2007 Irena was up for the Nobel Peace Prize.
She was not selected.
Al Gore won, for a slide show on Global Warming.

Please share this to honor the sacrifice and courage of this fine human being who gave so much and saved so many.

To be natural

"To be natural is to be at home with your own nature.
If you are outside yourself,
always reaching beyond yourself,
you avoid the call of your own mystery."

Walking the Talk

Here is the Martha Graham quote you wanted me to send to you on the subject of walking the talk:

"There is vitality, a life force, a quickening that is translated through you into action, and there is only one of you in all time.  This expression is unique. and if you block it, it will never exist through any other medium and be lost.  The world will not have it  It is not your business to determine how good it is, nor how valuable it is, nor how it compares with other expressions.  It is your business to keep it yours clearly and directly, to keep the channel open.   You have to keep open and aware directly to the urges that motivate you.  Keep the channel open."

Faith in Ourselves

We do not believe in ourselves until someone reveals that something deep inside us is valuable, worth listening to, worthy of our trust, sacred to our touch. Once we believe in ourselves we can risk curiosity, wonder, spontaneous delight or any experience that reveals the human spirit.

You can never be alone - you are part of everything

Being alone does not have to mean being spiritually lonely.

Being alone offers the unlimited connection with the universe.

Loneliness is most often times due to an ego struggle of not feeling connected and buying into the collective social stigma that condemns it. ...

Its OK to be alone, because in truth, you never are.

You are a part of everything.

Blessings

I am wired - not retired!

Another of my Zumba students is in the news today! Ron Alexander is famous!

Thanks Kelly Bragg - she is an Angel of Joy Zumba Teacher

"Ron Alexander is 69, but don't call him retired. He moved to James Island from North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina in November, and says he's starting his fourth career as a writer and storyteller. Previously, he served in the Army as a medic and was a clinical pathologist, a Coast Guard Licensed Sailing Captain, and a licensed Therapist after grad. School in California.

"I'm not retired, I'm wired," he said. And Zumba plus Story Telling classes here at the Senior Center have really helped me get going again. The Zumba Gold (for the old and the bold) is joyously led by Kelly Bragg and is full of Angels of Joy.

Alexander sailed while he was a student at Clemson, and now works with Vets on Deck, a therapeutic sailing program for military veterans.

I will not dishonor my soul with hatred

I swear I will not dishonor my soul with hatred, but offer myself humbly as a guardian of nature, as a healer of misery, as a messenger of wonder, as an architect of peace.

Life Sings Through Me in Radiant Ecstasy

Life Sings Through Me in Radiant Ecstasy

Now and always I recognize that I live, move and have my being in God. I am part of the Universal Mind. I am one with Universal Substance (Energy/Ron). All qualities and all the wealth of good and desirable things that exist in Universal Mind are mine now. I perceive, accept, and experience them. I know that all the beauty of form around me is the Garment of God. I know that the Presence that manifests in my heart and mind is God expressing through within that garment of form. As I feel this Presence more and more I hear the Song of Joy deep within me. Always when I am still I hear the Song of Life pouring through my consciousness. I have only to listen, for it is always there.
With this knowledge comes the assurance that the Loving Presence is always here – “closer than my breath…” I have nothing to fear. I feel this loving embrace around me, and I know that it is not only a Song of Joy, but a Song of Love and Protection. I tune out all dull, negative ideas and tune in with the sunshine of life, with brightness and laughter, with the joyous Presence that is Live itself. I now lay aside all anxiety, all striving, and let the Law bring my good to me. I joyfully anticipate greater abundance, more success, more joy. Peace fills my heart and Life sings through me in radiant ecstasy! Ernest Holmes

Rev. Ed Kosak's Thought for the week - you are a soul

Thought For the Week:
One of our congregants sent me a great idea:
"You do not have a soul.
You are a soul.
You have a body."
Been thinking about that one all week. Lines like these are great engagers of the brain, but of what practical use are they? Let's break this one down:
1. Assuming you think the soul is eternal, as Unity does, there can be less fear of death, if no fear at all.
2. Assuming you think the soul is perfect, as I do, then we can take heart that even when we massively screw up, there is that part of us that is perfect, whole healthy and free. We can correct and even grow from how we screwed because we have hope, hope springing from the perfect part of us, rather than hopeless because we're sinful and limited wretched creatures. (Caveat: some distinguish between the soul as mind, and our spirit for them is the perfect part of us, apply here whichever is perfect for you. For me, soul is spirit and the mind is the mind).
3. When we tap into the soul by becoming aware of it in  prayer and meditation, we are enlivened, quickened, energized. How? Because we are tapping into LIFE itself. We are tapping into the evolutionary impulse and life force that created the universe.

How else can the above idea practically benefit us? What say ye o wise ones?

Moi: With the reality of eternity, one need not be bothered by the passage of time. Ron Alexander

Meaning doesn't lie in things...

"Meaning doesn't lie in things. Meaning lies in us. When we attach value to things that aren't love - money, car, house, the prestige - we are loving things that can't love us back. We are searching for meaning in the "meaningless" Money of itself, means nothing. Material things, of themselves, mean nothing. It's not that they're bad. It's that they're NOTHING." ~ Marianne Williamson, A RETURN TO LOVE ~

Pray Without Expectations

Pray - period! Don't expect anything. Or better, expect nothing. Prayer cleanses us of expectations and allows holy will, providence, and life itself an entry. What could be more worth the effort - or the non-effort?

Thomas Moore(gratefulness.org)

Sort of like reaching equanimity in meditation. Accepting all, expecting nothing...
staying balanced and calm - creating space around the happy or unhappy situations and letting them pass...

Perfection in Eternal Life

Perfection in Eternal Life
My body is the temple of the Living God. It is Spiritual Substance – i.e. Quantum Physics has proven that everything is really energy in space, some more slow moving than others like in rocks. We are all made up of Energy in Space called Spirit by Ernest Holmes here. I have perfect confidence in my heart that God’s life-giving Spirit is my life. Since God is my life and God is eternal, my life (energy never dies according to Quantum Physics) is eternal. Therefore, I cannot be separated from God, from Good, from Perfection. If I would renew body, mind and affairs, I must first cause my imagination (To approach forgiveness is to close in on the nature of the hurt itself, the only remedy being, as we approach its raw center, to reimagine our relation to it. David Whyte) to rise above them. The Supreme Ruler, omnipresent, therefore existing at the very center of my thought, the Christ within me, really has the power to make all things new.
The Perfect Life of God now expresses Itself through me, and every part of my body expresses its innate perfection and wholeness. As the sun dissolves the mist, so does my knowledge of Truth dissolve all pain and discord. I know the Truth about myself as a Child of God and that Truth makes me free. I am free because the Power of the Living Spirit is my power, and it remolds and re-creates my body after the likeness of the perfect pattern of God. I open wide the doorway of my consciousness to a greater influx from Almighty Spirit. I know that the all-conquering power of Spirit is with me. I accept my birthright, as a Divine being, of manifesting the Life, Love, Peace, Strength, Harmony, and Joy of God – the Infinite Life that dwells within and incarnates Itself in me, as me. –Ernest Holmes

Elder, Infant - they are one being.

Every new-born being indeed comes fresh and blithe into the new existence, and enjoys it as a free gift: but there is, and can be, nothing freely given. Its fresh existence is paid for by the old age and death of a worn-out existence which has perished, but which contained the indestructible seed out of which this new existence has arisen: they are one being. –Shopenhaur
