Ego demonized and

Ron Alexander Here is the original definition of the concept ego by the inventor Sigmund Freud: the ego is the conscious bridge of the id (our lower brain) to the super ego(our higher brain). While we live in the body, the ego is vital. To write the above or anything, we need one. The key is to be aware and not allow it to be in charge. Let go and allow Spirit to lead the way.

Lana Carolan Yes Ron, and the intension of the post is a way to access those higher energies when we seem stuck in the lower, more dense & solid energies of the ego's material point of view. Think of the "Infinite I" that TRUE "I" that is ONE with God. The "finit...See More

Lana Carolan Joan, yes to me to follow my heart is to follow my guidance from spirit.

Ron Alexander Lana Carolan It is just the continual demonizing of the "ego" wrongly defined by psychologist Helen in ACIM that produces just more duality in this world, that I protest. There is no part of us that is junk.

Manage
Lana Carolan I tend to agree Ron. It IS demonized and it need not be. For what is unworthy (real or imagined) of the Love of God? Ego can be a friend which i find more useful than having it be an enemy. We just need not give it a false reality for then it may seem more challenging to control.

Ron Alexander Also, it is given power just as fundamentalist Christians give Satan Power, it need not be! I love most of Helen's channeling of Jesus in ACIM and find it mostly accurate and inspiring except for her definitiion of the "ego" . Duality is just more seperation, and now more than ever we need LOVING ONENESS, which is REALITY.

Lana Carolan Ron, That's a great point. It does give it an importance which really is counter to the message of ACIM. It is certainly not a "Satan"

Lord, make me an instrument of Thy peace;
where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
and where there is sadness, joy.
O Divine Master,
grant that I may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console;
to be understood, as to understand;
to be loved, as to love;
for it is in giving that we receive,
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
and it is in dying that
we are born to Eternal Life.
Amen.

Honey

HONEY WAS A SERVICE/THERAPY DOG BEFORE THERE WERE ANY. SHE WORKED WITH ME WITH LIFE-THREATENED KIDS, AND WAS A BETTER COUNSELOR THAN MYSELF. THE KIDS AND ALL THE STAFF LOVED AND APPRECIATED HER.

JOY as a choice

Reposting, as so far this morning starting at about 4AM, has been nightmarish, however, just off the phone with my prayer/meditation partner, whose prayer helped immensely.😇 I got it together to visit the hospice, where I relearned that service is joy.😍

Rabindrath Tagore on service as ....

RADIANT EMPTINESS OF SPIRIT

All that is necessary to awaken to yourself as the radiant emptiness of spirit is to stop seeking something more or better or different, and to turn your attention inward to the awake silence that you are.

In Theravada Buddhism, suññatā often refers to the not-self (Pāli: anattā, Sanskrit: anātman)[note 1] nature of the five aggregates of experience and the six sense spheres. Suññatā is also often used to refer to a meditative state or experience.
In Mahayana, Sunyata refers to the precept that "all things are empty of intrinsic existence and nature,"[4][5] but may also refer to the Buddha-nature teachings and primordial or empty awareness, as in Dzogchen and Shentong.

Ron Alexander My maternal grandmother proved Eternal Love to me. She was the only person I felt love from growing up. She never expressed it or was a hugger, yet she.prayed a lot. I could feel her unconditional love energetically, and she stayed around until I graduated from college. I still feel her love in my heart over 50 years after her passing. Thanks Diane McEneaneyGraves
