Clinging, attachment leads to loss and suffering

For more joy, try working with and for others

When we begin to believe that there is greater joy in working with and for others, rather than just for ourselves, then our society will truly become a place of celebration.

O.k., I go first! (Budge an inch, carried for miles.)

Ron, you take care of the inches, I'll take care of the miles.

You just have to go first.

Happy Friday, Ron! Here's my challenge to you this weekend: Take three "seemingly" small baby steps to move a little closer to your dreams.

Here are the steps I took, plus some ideas for you!

GOOD MORNING, YOU ARE AN AWESOME PERSON!

Don't "Should" on me, thank you!

When you visualize a great dream of yours coming true, Ron, what do you imagine?
Do you see yourself jumping up and down, doing the happy dance, looking to the sky, and shrieking, "THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!"? Can you feel the skin on your face stretch as you smile from ear to ear, or the palm of your hands sting as you slap more high-fives? Can you feel your fingers dialing your best friend's telephone number?

Yeah, I think you should.

"Very should,"

CALM WATERS

Nice but "waves crashing" are a danger signal to boaters and campers near the water. "Gentle lapping waves" are more like it.

A good friend masters the art of timing:

Sometimes being a friend means mastering the art of timing. There is a time for silence. A time to let go and allow people to hurl themselves into their own destiny. And a time to prepare to pick up the pieces when it’s all over.

Row, row, row your boat.
Merrily, merrily, merrily
Row, row, row your boat.
Gently, gently, gently
 Row, row, row your boat.
Merrily, gently down the stream.

Sometimes, just need do nothing though!

Until the really "great" stuff comes along, Ron, do the not-so-great stuff.

The not-so-great stuff always leads to the great stuff. Whereas doing nothing pretty much leads to nowhere.

And do it with a passion.

Tallyho,

Humble and great at same time!

Ron Alexander: And we all have a Universe within! In fact, our cells with its protons, neutrons, electrons have the same relative distance between them as the stars and planets! . Breathe and be grateful for the magnitude of our Universal Beingness!
Toni Hayward: As above so below..as within so without..
Makes me feel humble and great at the same time.
Ron Alexander: Thanks very much for your balanced reply Toni!

HIGHLY FAVORABLE TIME TO EXPEDITE THE RIPENING OF YOUR TALENTS Libra.

Here is my translation of a passage from the ancient Gospel of Thomas, a gnostic text about the teachings of Jesus."If you do not awaken and develop the potential talents that lie within you, they will damage you. If you do awaken and develop the potential talent that lies within you, they will heal you." Whether you actually awaken and develop those talents or not depends on two things: our ability to identify them clearly and your determination to bring them to life with the graceful force of your willpower. I call this to your attention, Libra, because the coming months will be highly favorable time to expedite the ripening of your talents. And it all starts NOW!                              Rob Brezsny (Free Will Astrology)

Libra is the seventh astrological sign in the Zodiac. It spans the 180–210th degree of the zodiac, between 180 and 207.25 degree of celestial longitude. Wikipedia

Unlearning Racism

Ron Alexander
I come up in the first 15 or 20 minutes of this video - again honored to be a part of this dialog. "As a white man, my main purpose in life right now , is to ge...t out of denial, unlearn the racism I learned growing up here in the South, and help others do the same. Gwen then asked me how I came to that thinking. I replied "grief, I think." "What are you going to do now" she inquired. I told her to "unlearn what I was taught, and then teach right!

SUPRISING MANIFESTATION?

Remember the joy you used to feel when you'd find a quarter in the street? And how exciting it was when you got older and found a crumpled $20 bill in the pocket of a pair of jeans you hadn't worn in months?

Well, brace yourself, Ron, because the day isn't far off when in-between taking naps, swimming laps, or doing the routine happy dance, you'll be busy gathering documents for your tax return preparer and suddenly find a statement to a bank account you don't even remember opening, with more than enough money in it to do whatever your heart now longs to do, probably twice.

You do trip us out.

Sure enough,

The Way to Limitless possibilities

Image
Dear Ron,

"I shall keep the promise I have made to myself.

I shall never again tell myself that I am poor, sick, weak nor unhappy.

I shall not lie to myself any more, but shall daily speak the truth to my inner Soul, telling It that It is wonderful and marvelous; that It is One with the Great Cause of all Life, Truth, Power and Action.

I shall whisper these things into my Soul until it breaks forth into songs of joy with the realization of Its Limitless possibilities.

I shall assure my soul."  - Dr. Ernest Holmes

 I love you,

Ester

ARE YOU AFRAID OF DEATH?

Men,

Circle of Men Meeting:
Day: Saturday Sept. 24th from 10:00am to 12:00pm

The Circle of Men at Unity meets on the 4th Saturday of each month from 10:00am to 12:00pm. It's a great opportunity to gather in a small, trusting group and talk about the opportunities and challenges men face in the 21st century, with relationships, careers, health, and more.
Topic for the meeting: Are you afraid of death?
I’m not afraid of death; I just don’t want to be there when it happens. ― Woody Allen

Anyone who has reached the age of the men in this Circle has experienced the death of someone close to him: parents, siblings, spouses, friends, colleagues, perhaps even children.

Think of the many people who have died today. How many of them really thought they were going to die today? Do you really think you know how much time you have left? Death can come at any moment. You could die tonight or tomorrow. Most of us try to avoid the sense that death can come at any time, but its timing is unknown to us.

How often have you heard the advice to live each day as if it were your last? It certainly sounds like something we should try to do, but it’s not so easy to pull off. After all, who has time to worry about dying when we’re busy living? Of course, that attitude assumes that living and dying are two separate undertaking but dying is no less a part of living than being born is.

What are your personal views of aging and death? What has informed those views?

Here are some of the questions we will be pondering:

Imagine that you have only three months to live. How would you spend your remaining time? What would you focus on? How do you envision the last days of your life? Come join us for an interesting discussion about a difficult topic.

I didn't attend the funeral, but I sent a nice letter saying I approved of it. — Mark Twain

HAVE TO SHARE THIS BEAUTIFUL WRITING ABOUT THE "ILLUSION OF DEATH"! Thank You Patricia Arnold

The most beautifully written obit. I have ever read thanks Patricia Arnold:
Patricia Arnold:
At this moment, I am once again embracing the truth that not one soul came to this planet to stay.
Please join me in surrounding Joyce Townsend, the soul who came here to be my big sister, with radiant Light, as she proceeds along her eternal path.
When Joyce awoke this morning, she probably was surprised to discover that she was no longer wearing her human body costume, no longer weighted by gravity, and no longer limited to being in one place at a time.

Showering love on my younger sister, Mickey, niece April Townsend-Sinkfield, nephew Andre Townsend and their children, as we all transition to being over here without Joyce's physical presence--knowing that Everything is in Divine Order.
Much love to all!
