Dear friends, please don't demonize your ego - Your "ego" keeps you safe, it is the part of you that drives, that finds your direction, that tells you when the "id" (unconscious part). Gary Zukav calls it the Earth Guide, as long as you are in your body and on this plane, you cannot function without it! Being aware that it is balanced it the smart way. Most people have too weak of an ego, and try to compensate by being egotistical, that is when you have a problem!
Dean A. Banks The ego has a job to do and a job not to do; it is there for self-survival but not to lead based on its yearnings for recognition, power and the implementation of that perceived power. It is to be balanced with the wisdom of the spirit but never to be in command of that spirit; for in relinquishing the guidance of Divine wisdom to the command of the ego is where fighting, derision and negativity are borne. My way or the highway reveals just who is in command.
