FORGIVING RATHER THAN JUDGING

FORGIVING RATHER THAN JUDGING (Chp. 9)
Principle # 6 : We can learn to love ourselves and others by forgiving rather than judging.
“We know that the very idea that we have to learn to love ourselves and others puts us in a place of needing to do the inner work on ourselves. Self-love is the focus of this chapter. To come into the idea that we are beautiful, intelligent and abundant in all areas of our life means learning to value our spiritual beauty. Only through awareness will we be able to give up judgment as a tool to define our essence. The understanding that “Love is the essence of our being” opens the door to the truth of what forgiveness can do to heal the wounds of racism, as we let the past go. Forgiveness opens the doors of creativity, and true reconciliation becomes possible. Judgment on the other hand, opens the wounds of racism and increases our level of hopelessness and fear that racism and its effects will never end. P. 117, 118
