Blessing must arise from within your own mind. It is not something that comes from outside. When the positive qualities of your mind increase and the negativities decrease, that is what blessing means. The Tibetan word for blessing … means transforming into magnificent potential. Therefore, blessing refers to the development of virtuous qualities you did not previously have and the improvement of those good qualities you have already developed. ― Dalai Lama XIV

Join us for this important CommUNITY healing event
Share your thoughts on commUNITY in an intimate setting with other Charleston writers August 1, 2015, from 10 a.m. – Noon at Upper Lance Hall, Circular Church, 150 Meeting St. in Charleston.
The shooting at Emanuel AME has given us all an opportunity to push toward change. We welcome all writers to come and share their poems, short stories or journal entries on the state of our city.
Come even if you don’t have anything written, or have a desire to write and aren’t sure where to begin…
This writing event will offer a positive space for people to compose, collaborate and share with others. One City/One Heart will be lead by Marcus Amaker. Several writing rooms will be available and LILA board members will be on hand to help facilitate this important community healing event.
