More on Dannion and his Twilight Brigade (no vet. should die alone)

  •
Debbie Strandell-Johnson Ron Alexander, I am familiar with Dannion Brinkley, though have not heard of his *Twilight Brigade*. Speaking from my heart and also as a nurse, NO ONE should die alone. It pains me that my son did, and sometimes that's just the way it is, though I would always try to be with someone who was dying. It's an honor to sit quietly with someone as they pass into spirit heart emoticon Many people would ask me how I could be around so much death and dying...like isn't that depressing? I would tell them NO, not for me. It was a very spiritual experience, and like I said, I felt (spiritually) honored to be there with them. All those many experiences grew my heart and soul in ways words could never convey. heart emoticon

  • Ron Alexander Yes, Debbie Strandell-Johnson, I was with Mom when she breathed her last breath, and since I don't believe in death of the Spirit, I am completely comfortable there. Also, the most fulfilling work I have done is with Life-threatened young adults at Dr. Jerry Jampolsky,s Center for Attitudinal Healing - Attitudinal Healing International. So my question is - if I continue with the Digital Stories? Do I concentrate on families - Mothers, (Fathers, Brothers, Sisters, Good Friends), like you left behind or just drop it. Could you and I create a non-profit for families like ours? I do appreciate your thorough replies. Blessings and Love, Ron (here is Dannion and Jay at a Twilight Brigade parade on Memorial Day. He is from Aiken, S.C., but seems to have his biggest following in California. He used to have a training program for a Twilight Hospice, but awaiting to hear from him about that?

  • Debbie Strandell-Johnson I am not drawn to doing the non-profit...right now anyway! I allow life to unfold as it will, and I AM pleasantly surprised at what pops up, so I never say never, lol! I will just say from experience that when I follow my heart and my intuition, I land right where I'm supposed to BE in that moment, even when it is not what I expected at times. I have also learned that delays are not denials, because my experience has been that when I AM prepared to take on a life experience, it will be there for me. So many times I have dreamed of doing this or that only to find that it was years before those opportunities presented themselves within other experiences. There seems to be a connection Ron Alexander! Let's just say that I've learned to TRUST in life unfolding for my highest and best evolution, and I leave the timing to God/Universe heart emoticon

    • Debbie Strandell-Johnson You answered your own question really with the Charles F. Glassman quote, which is really all I've been saying, lol! Life never seems to be a straight line from A to B!

Ron Alexander "Charles F. Glassman" ??? What quote - I am really interested and thanks for your feedback - helps me to "relax" into knowing Divine will lead me on my path and to enjoy it along the way.

    • Ron Alexander The fruits of Spirit are peace, joy and Love. Galatians At the center of my being is peace. In this peace that holds me so gently, I feel strength and protection from all fear, anxieties. I am one with deep abiding peace. Every problem is released as I allow this peace to flow through me. Underneath all of this, I feel the Love ot the Holy Presence. Where I am there is peace. (Ernest Holmes - paraphrased.)

Dannion Brinkley's Twilight Parade - No Vet. Should Die Alone

Dannion Brinkley's Twilight Parade - no vet. should die alone...

Theda Parks: It's no mistake for the change. It was impossible for you to be with Barry when he took his leave, and you've grieved for years. I see you having that opportunity through Hospice. The man who wrote "Saved by the Light" is Dannion Brinkley... I met him a number of years ago when he spoke in Bethesda, MD.. His near-death experience in 1975 set him on his life's journey. He created the Twilight Brigade.. teaching volunteers about spending time with veterans who are in hospice. He doesn't believe any vet should be alone in their last hours. If you haven't already, you may want to check it out. XOXO
Ron Alexander: Yes, I have read Dannion Brinkley's Books and saw him with alot of other people in a workshop he gave in Sacramento in the late 80's or 90's. He felt like a Bro! I will try to contact him again and see him before my orientation on July 6th. Thanks a lot. I am sure you could teach me alot with your chaplain training too! lotsappreciation, ron
Dear Dannion, I have recently been assigned to the Hospice here at Charleston VA. It was kind of a surprise - very pleasant though, as my most fulfilling work has been with life-threatened young adults at Dr. Jerry Jampolsky's Center for Attitudinal Healing then in Tiburon, Ca. That was about the time I met you in Sacramento with a couple of hundred other students. I have enthusitically read all your books, and have been doing Digital Stories online for vets, until VA recentl...y pulled the plug on me for now. It was kind of a relief as the Hospice was my first request as a volunteer. Also, I do not start that job until July 6th - any time to meet with you? or other recommendations for this work? Blessings, Ron Alexander

Ron Alexander What do you think, a respected friend/teacher says I ought to concentrate the digital stories on family and friends of vets instead of vets themselves? Your feedback is important to me dear Debbie Strandell-Johnson and have you ever heard of Dannion Brinkley and his "Twilight Brigade" - "no vet should die alone" ?

    Look Within to find God

    Healing Light's photo.
Today's Message - Everything you need truly is within you... just listen! ~ heart emoticon ~

Richard Kent Matthews Unfortunately, for 1600 years, the Church has taught differently. God is outside. We are worthless. And deserve hell. But HE has seen fit to save us from our nasty fallen state. To say god is within is heresy. God cannot live where sin is the master. And that's us. So, god there, us here, the chasm cannot be crossed. Except by Jesus, who holds us by the scruff of the neck over the fire, saying, Believe in me or I let go. That's what Daddy told me to do. Not any of those other false spiritual geniuses. That's the belief of at least a billion point five people on the planet. Can that chasm ever be bridged? Can you convince all those folks that there really is a god within and not just a Satanic New Age falsehood? Hard to say.

Well Richard, I was raised as a "Christian", and at the age of 8, I attended a Christian youth camp, where I accepted Jesus as my savior. The subsequent "high" was unlike anything I had experienced up to that time. Later, at around 21, I decided to get baptized (again) to renew my faith. It was only after many years of study and other experiences, that I realized there is a lot more to it, than proclaiming or thinking I am "born again" (another silly phrase). In later years, I have been able to sort out most of the blind indoctrinations of youth, and have come to realize that "belief" is one of the worst thing that can befall a person - because "belief" is what blocks us from the unknown. I no longer call myself a Christian because I see no point doing so. Let's remember, Jesus wasn't a Christian either.

    Terry Orr

I agree Richard. Regardless of the basis in metaphysical meaning, preaching things like "Jesus died for our sins and by his blood he set us free" is silly meaningless nonsense to most people who weren't culturally indoctrinated to parrot such phrases. What does matter, is how we conduct ourselves on a daily basis regardless of whichever religion we were born to. If someone comes to me and says "I believe in Jesus", my thought is "So what? What are you doing about it?". (Our salvation is our own responsibility, Ron Alexander)

Let's remember that Truth is universal. There is no such thing as Christian misery distinguished from Muslim misery for example. As such, the remedy is universal as well. There is no value converting people from one religion to another religion. Rather, conversion from misery to happiness is the best.

Keenan W Robinson Truly awesome ♡

Richard Kent Matthews The whole point of challenging is not to make me right, but to stir up questions in the mind of the challenged. When we make statements, about our, shall we say, beliefs, we leave ourselves open. And that is as it should be. The greatest belief, if you will, is uncertainty. And I am open to being challenged on that. As far as me being anti, I am anti only one thing: Hurting others. As is the expression: Do the most good, the least harm.
