Untethering the bound soul

Old tethered soul
what keeps you bound
to that which has forgotten your name ?
Perhaps in another time,
there was a reason
for your confinement ~
and so you refuse to claim your light.
Old soul you have been through all the unravelings,
you've died and come back here still.
Don't you remember the glimpses of heaven?
the way the stars held you ever so softly ?
You must sweetly recall the lighter tastes of freedom,
the way the air lifted you as you flew ?
Every barren space felt you,
every creature saw you,
and they all knew ~
you would surely return here
to this uncomfortable world.
So here you stay,
for now that is.
Until the wild callings float near ~
Then you will choose to release your own fettering,
walking away,
and when the dirt road ends
you shall fall into your own nothingness,
birth your own wings,
and
fly.
