True Role of Ego - Earth Guide

Too many spiritual people constantly preach that we must get rid of the ego. They say the ego is ‘bad’ and the spirit is ’good’. The idea of embracing true spirituality is NOT to get rid of the ego, just to put it in its place.

The ego is ...
responsible for our individual self-survival at all costs and when taken to the extreme becomes selfish and greedy. It progresses into looking at itself as the source of all its good. It has a job to do and it was created by the Divine for a purpose. Use it wisely by balancing its desires with the Divine desires that are planted in your heart.

You will have attained this balance when you integrate your talents, skills and abilities to contribute to the growth and expansion of others as well as yourself. Be a co-creator of health, wealth, prosperity and abundance for all and you will live in joy, peace, understanding and Divine love. It’s all in how you balance the gifts you have been so graciously given. ~Dean A. Banks, D.D.

Ron - Hoo - rah! I have been defending the ego for years Dean, however your writing is marvelous, ego-d! I ask fine Unity minister a few weeks ago what makes us make mistakes and he said quickly "The Ego", and I replied if I asked a mainstream minister, he would answer "the devil made you do it"! DUALITY/SEPARATION with both answers

Muriel Perkins Yes..awesome words, This is our ultimate liberation..We cannot express as a creator outside of form until we have first learned to function as a creator within form..Thank you dear one sharing.. O:)

Ron Alexander: Gary Zukav calls it our Earth Guide! While we are in our bodies on this planet we need the ego. The key is balance - AWARENESS that it is not too weak or too strong
