The Paradox of Letting Go
we are both
broken and whole
the tangles slowly rise...
at first the knots are without soft hope
of loosening or unraveling
the breath became constricted
yet we restart
the inhalations strangely speak
and the body finds her way
the out breath holds the sweetness and the struggle
as the letting go holds on
we are forever free
yet temporarily clothed
in life's restricting garments
holding on to joy
running from each pain
inescapable is abrubtness
of the primal revelations
we must embrace it all
yet refuse the clingings
and meet the shadows at our door
barren are the places we think we have protected
and we refuse to relinquish the grasps
yet the exquisitely battered tree we used to think was God
has fallen
balance has left the bargaining table
so now we find ways to dance with what chased us
as the desperately tired armor
feels the struggle of what rises and falls
surrendering the surrendering
