An Apology and a Poll - ("apollogy"?) (with replies to poll)

My little Brother Dead in Vietnam

"Where there is anger, there is always pain underneath." —Eckhart Tolle
Ron Alexander
If we only knew before you went,

Dear Barry, however we were so innocent.

To think that war was time well-spent.

I would have taken you over the border.

I would have sailed you across the sea.

I would have made sure we were free

From our country’s "blood-thirsty insanity."
I apologize for using "blood-thirsty insanity." I think it is too harsh - as "unaware" is more descriptive and "blood-thirsty" is too much as "greed" may be more like it?
How about "greedy ignorance"? Or "Misled Violence"? What do you think? What would you write there if your dear Brother was killed in an unjust war like that?

Jeeni Zucchini I think you should say what you think and feel. Earlier I watched George Carlin's last stand up video... and he didn't hold back. As elders, it is our responsibility to tell the truth.

Terry Orr I agree with Jeeni. You are expressing your genuine feelings. You are not intending to be mean or harmful in your words. Besides, "blood thirsty insanity" is a rather apt description. No point sugar coating. Nothing wrong.

  • Terry Orr There comes a time when calling a spade a spade can be necessary. It may seem as though you are being unkind, but sometimes it's more unkind to say nothing. We can't always let the "criminals" get away with their bad deeds. The main thing, is to make sure that your mind is not generating harmful anger and that you are trying to be helpful - even if the criminal may take offense.

  • Lindsay Byrd Caldwell Money, power, greed! Very simple. Barry's life was worth nothing to the war machine. Grieve you own way, Ron! Just try your best to turn the nastiness into a positive. Your brother's spirit will be with you looking out for you until you release the spirit. He is free! He wants to leave you with some type of positive emotion!! No, you do not get to shoot people to get even! It will always be a loss! Let your brother's spirit go. The universe will thank you!!!

  • Lindsay Byrd Caldwell Uncover your own Ron Alexander!! Own your grief!! Bar

Jax Byrne Ron, if you are holding onto any misplaced guilt about your beloved brother, forgive yourself. You were never responsible for others' actions♡

Jax Byrne In this insane world there has, is, and most likely always will be wars. The best each of us can do is to look at our own propensity for violence and be the peace we seek. You are a beautiful beacon of light to others who are in pain Ron

Pamela Arrington Actually, it was France's unjust war that the US took over for some illogical reason. The US government has a habit of doing that and probably does not know why itself. Why are we still involved in the Middle East? How many trillions of dollars and dead souls will it take before they are left to their inevitable ending/new beginning? You cannot force change on an old culture at the end of a gun barrel. Why are we not willing to clean our own house first?

Robyn Summers-Shelley Time heals nothing Ron, it is what well we do with our time is where our healing begins. But!.... It never ends. Hugs and love from the land of Oz xxxx

Theda Parks Ron--I think your term "unjust war" (on many levels) says it all. XO

    Ra Divakar "greedy ignorance"!
