Blessing must arise from within your own mind. It is not something that comes from outside. When the positive qualities of your mind increase and the negativities decrease, that is what blessing means. The Tibetan word for blessing … means transforming into magnificent potential. Therefore, blessing refers to the development of virtuous qualities you did not previously have and the improvement of those good qualities you have already developed. ― Dalai Lama XIV

Blessing Hearts
I will order cedar hearts that will have "Be a Blessing" carved on it. and they will be sold to benefit needy children. I wrote this little "ditty" below as kind of a country song with a "inspirational" theme hopefully.
Now I am confessing
Most of my life I haven't been a blessing.
Given the Lord's Free Will.
I have found I have a choice -
Curse or rejoice.
I choose - I can lose or
If I refrain from being a curse,
Most of my life I haven't been a blessing.
Given the Lord's Free Will.
I have found I have a choice -
Curse or rejoice.
I choose - I can lose or
If I refrain from being a curse,
I can gain.
Every morning I decide
Go against the tide
Or joyously ride.
Sometimes it feels like
Its not in my hands.
That's true, so I surrender
And remember, "This is the day
The Lord has made, rejoice and be glad in It."
And that's every day.
I can choose to be a blessing
Sometimes its confusing and it's irony
By surrendering, I can be free.
I must remember its my choice
To curse or rejoice.
I will keep on confessing and
Deciding to be a blessing.
Every morning I decide
Go against the tide
Or joyously ride.
Sometimes it feels like
Its not in my hands.
That's true, so I surrender
And remember, "This is the day
The Lord has made, rejoice and be glad in It."
And that's every day.
I can choose to be a blessing
Sometimes its confusing and it's irony
By surrendering, I can be free.
I must remember its my choice
To curse or rejoice.
I will keep on confessing and
Deciding to be a blessing.
