Suddenly, a blessing! Email from VA today regarding Angels in Vietnam

Dear Rev. Ed, I have managed to help get a speaking engagement for Dr. John at the VA. I would hope that you can help him schedule a speaking engagement/workshop at Unity Charleston. I am sure Rev. Margaret (Myrtle Beach Unity) will give you a sterling recommendation. I hope to go to Vietnam with me, as I think "reconciliation" is the best therapy. He and his wife Lindsley are wonderful healers. When they go back with vets., some of our time will be in clinics working with agent orange victims. You may know that Nixon did not follow through with 3 billion dollar grant to help clean up the highly toxic agent! And babies are still being born with birth defects because of it. Vets. coming back from Iraq and Afghanistan have even worse PTSD, with the caveat, is that they know what it is today and they are welcomed home. Dr. John has written 5 books one is called NOT WELCOMED HOME. My fav. of his is the transformative ANGELS IN VIETNAM. I would like for you to read it if you like? Dr. Ron Acierno, who has spoken, for your Mother-in-law at the "Creative Senior Center"(?) about Veterans on Deck, which is a type of "Immersive Therapy" that I help Dr. Ron with...I think going back to Vietnam is the ultimate type of "Immersive Therapy". Also, I expect to facilitate more Storytelling as a therapeutic tool at the VA and elsewhere. I appreciate you and the courageous mindful vulnerability you role-model in your services!  Mindfulness really helps me in all the above, thanks.                           no mistake, ron

Here is a good news message from the VA I received today (I have been working on this with Dr. Ron for weeks)
I spoke with Dr. Fisher today and he is sending me some of his available dates.  We’ll need to work on coordinating his schedule and the main auditorium.

He is a Vietnam Veteran who wants to present on healthy living as a way to heal from PTSD.  He stated that his methods are backed up by psychological evidence and that he has presented at the Denver and Oregon VA.  I did discuss with him that during his time on our campus he cannot solicit for sales of his books or his group trips to Vietnam (per VA regulations).  I also shared with him that his presentation would be open to patients, family members and staff.

At this time I am awaiting his response on schedule availability and we’ll go from there on setting a date/time.
