A Most Challenging Ocean Voyage - Lightning Striking all around for miles

Mentors Channel's photo.

Of all your lifetimes, Ron, do you know which ones you'll look back on with the fondest memories, the most pride, and the widest grin? The ones where in spite of challenges, no matter how daunting, difficult, or painful, you pressed on.

Like a Cheshire Cat,
    The Universe

I was stuck without an engine, no wind and lightning striking all around me in the Gulfstream between the Bahamas and Florida. I was afraid at first, but after awhile, and multitudes of lightening striking all around with the accompanying sulfurous smell, I began enjoying the beauty of it. In a few hours the wind strengthened enough so I could sail slowly into safe harbor at Lake Worth Inlet next to Palm Beach about 70 miles north of my destination at Ft. Lauderdale. The strong current of the Gulf Stream took me there.
