I was telling that to a feeble old WW11 vet. in the VA hospice the other day. He slowly moved his hand out toward me, I held it for about 15 minutes. I could feel his thumb gently squeeze my hand. When I was starting to leave, I told him "everybody loved him and we are so thankful for his service." He managed a soft but very sweet thank you. I was blessed!
