PTSD?

Patricia L. Oswalt: After my divorce, I ended up going to see a psychologist for a while, because I would have bursts of anger or fear over pretty small things. He said that I was suffering a mild form of PTSD, certainly nothing like vets have to deal with. I didn't really need medication, but he taught me a new way to think, to remind myself that all the things that I had suffered in the past were not still happening today. That I no longer had to worry about verbal, physical or emotional abuse; that I know longer had to worry about protecting my son from the same abuse. It was life changing.

If something happens to someone you love, you'll want to know the signs. PTSD isn't just for vets.
