Equanimity For Peace of Mind

A side note: Rev. Ed has begun the process of exploring the possibility of getting 10 day vipassana meditation programs into our jail down the street from us. Please hold this process in prayer with the intention of the right and perfect outcome for all.

I love peace of mind. Do you? Of course! Beside sitting in God's presence, HANDS DOWN the most helpful tool I have learned  to gain peace of mind and to help me through challenges is the mental skill of observation. I have called it the 13th of our 12 Powers in Unity. Such a rabble rouser you are, Kosak. 
This great quotation comes from my teacher, SN Goenka: "As in the inner world equanimity spreads, the actions of body, speech and mind are transformed." For me that's a grammatical syntax nightmare, but paraphrased it goes like this: As we gain balance in our inner world (emotions and thoughts), our body, speech and mind are healed. How do we gain that balance? Using our mind's eye, we NONJUDGMENTALLY observe a feeling, thought, person, situation with balance, with zero internal drama. Another way of saying it is: If we take the judgments off of the feeling, thought, etc. then we find peace of mind. 
I LOVE to talk about this spiritual technique. It has brought me, and millions throughout the past two and a half millenia, so much peace of mind...and sanity! Call me anytime to have some coffee to discuss it!
