Courageous Ali refuses to go to Nam to kill "brown skinned people".

All Blessings to Muhammed Ali for his being the heavyweight champ of integrity to his spiritual beliefs, values and convictions when he gave up his boxing championship and was willing to go to jail in refusing to join the military and go to Vietnam to kill "brown skinned people" who had done him no harm.

I had the good fortune to shake his hand at a peace demonstration against the war in 1967 in Los Angeles where Lyndon Johnson spoke to big wigs who supported the war. The protest eventually turned into police attacking the demonstrators but that was after Andrea and I had left and after Muhammed had spoken to the crowd.
As we walked back to our car to leave Muhammed's car drove bye us very slowly. The window was down so i poked my hand in to shake his and thanked him for who he was and the courage he showed us all in standing up for what he believed in. He smiled back and said "thank you". I felt his power.
All Blessings to a man who showed up and showed us what real strength is as a spiritual warrior for peace and justice. Amen!
