Some Vietnam Vets. still have not felt welcomed back

Vietnam Veterans's photo.
Ron Alexander The best welcome back I got was in a Circle Dance at a Powwow put on by the Waccamaw Indigenous people near Loris, S. C. They presented us with Webcatcher with an American Flag on it!

  • Ron Alexander Dr. John Wesley Fisher was spit on and called a "baby killer" when he returned. He now takes vets back with him to Vietnam every year to help in clinics with Agent Orange victims and for Reconciliation Therapy. He loves the Vietnam people - they welcome back vets wholeheartedly - they hold no resentment probably because they are Buddhists and know resentments are toxic to self!

Denali - was Mt. Mckinley but originally Denali

... we are officially renaming the mountain Denali in recognition of the traditions of Alaska
Image for the news resultI was stationed in Alaska in 1968-69 and it was Denali then. Only in Ohio are they mad about this, and of course this is just another attempt to make Obama look bad by Faux Opinions.
Mount McKinley
Mountain in Alaska
  • Denali, officially named Mount McKinley from 1917 to 2015, is the highest mountain peak in North America, with a summit elevation of 20,237 feet above sea level. Wikipedia

  • Elevation: 20,322'
  • Prominence: 20,157'
  • First ascent: June 7, 1913
  • Mountain range: Alaka Range
  • First ascenders: Harry Karstens, Robert Tatum, Walter Harper, Hudson Stuck
  • Mountain now known as Denali, photographed by Ansel Adams 1947:Because Denali is at sea level, it is actually the largest mountain in the world. Mountains like Everest start at 11, 000 ft.

  • that is Wonder lake 30 miles from the base. I camped there in 1969. And because of the heavy clouds (a usual condition), I could not see the big mountain. As I was watching, a moose carrying her baby on her back swam across the big lake. My buddy and I were watching for the peak near sunset hoping the clouds would part, Finally they did, but we were looking at about 30 degress, and I pointed out the peak at about 45 degrees - that was an impressive sight!

  • Juicing for a friend with leukemia

    THE JUICE!!!!!
I just had my first taste of the juice!
    It's phenomenal!
You have to tell me what's different in this one.
Ron, it is the most satisfying drink I've ever had,
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU
I could not find the pure aloe, so I got naturally flavored Aloe - smaller containers - one flavored with mango, one with peach, another with banana and then the other with orange. The key word is "natural" - I could have gotten the pure aloe artificially flavored for much cheaper, however I am sticking with the healthier juice of course. Pure aloe does not have a great flavor, so this juice is much more flavorable. Maybe I will stick with that, since you like it so much. You are most welcome my beloved friend, namaste', ron

Wake Up World - Teach Only Love

How many voices whisper your name each day.

    How Often Opportunity really knocks?

As many stars as there are in the night sky, Ron. As many grains of sand that exist on all the world's beaches. That's how often opportunity really knocks. That's how many second chances you really get. And that's how many voices whisper your name each day.

    RIP Wayne Dyer

Hmm, sad...however since he had no fear - New Orleans type celebration should be in order...
Wayne has left his body, passing away through the night. He always said he couldn't wait for this next adventure to begin and had no fear of dying. Our hearts ...are broken, but we smile to think of how much our scurvy elephant will enjoy the other side.
    We Love You Forever Dad/Wayne

Ron, today we want to salute and celebrate the amazing, pioneering work of Dr. Wayne Dyer, a legend in his own time.
Bon voyage and until we meet again! Happy adventures!

Twelve Spiritual Keys to Racial Healing

Twelve Principles of Attitudinal Healing Used in Beyond Fear
(See them as stepping stones to experiencing our Higher Self, "Space", "Emptiness", Inner Christ, Divine Flame, Buddha Nature, Source, Inner Being, Great Spirit which leads to "Beyond Belief" as Rev. Ed pointed out Sunday)

    1. The essence of our being is love.

    2. Health is inner peace, healing is letting go of fear.

    3. Giving and receiving are the same.

    4. We can let go of the past and the future.

    5. Now is the only time there is and each instant is forgiving.
    6. We can learn to love ourselves and others by forgiving rather than judging.

    7. We can become love-finders rather than fault-finders.

    8. We can choose and direct ourselves to be peaceful inside regardless of what is happening outside.

    9. We are students and teachers to each other.
    10. We can focus on the whole of life rather than the fragments.

    11. Since love is eternal, death need not be viewed as fearful.

    12. We can always perceive others as either extending love or giving a call for help.

Pema Chodron in AWAKENING LOVING-KINDNESS comes from a non-conceptual way - sitting in meditation to the same goal - losing the fear. Her teaching is a good balance to the teaching in BEYOND FEAR.

"Love is looking beyond appearances, beyond personalities--and beyond our perceptions of ourselves and others. The most prevalent obstacle to the awareness of love is our own self-doubt, our own feelings of unworthiness, of superiority or inferiority. This principle challenges us to explore and know the truth that we can choose how we feel about ourselves and others. Through the power of love, we can change our minds; we can take the next step on our journey of racial healing."  p. 81, BEYOND FEAR

"...Meditation practice isn't about trying to throw ourselves away and become something better. It is about befriending who we are already. The ground of practice  is you or me or whoever we are right now, just as we are. That's the ground, that's what we study, and that's what we come to know with tremendous curiosity and interest." p. 3 AWAKENING LOVING-KINDNESS

I am celibate but will screw this...

I remember many moons ago when I first got into recovery programs & organizations that supported adult children of dysfunctional families.... we had this bumper... sticker that I had on my cars for years... (do any of you old timers remember this bumper sticker? grin emoticon grin emoticon grin emoticon grin emoticon
I haven't seen the phrase lately, but it fits into many modalities now as we move forward in our conscious awareness of self & all that is, ....

    Time for foundations

    Terence Mckenna - Trust Yourself

You have to do it yourself, and you have to get beyond beliefs to the actual experience of the Divine Within through stillness/silence/meditation/reflection/prayer/ritual/dance/art/ - how have you gone beyond to actual DIVINE EXPERIENCE?

Inquire of your Higher Self many moments a day

Inquire of your Higher Self many moments a day to see what It would say instead of your lower self! I have been practicing this lately, and It has really helped me feel better about myself and others! "Now is the only time there is and each instant is for giving." Att. Healing principle # 5, We can learn to love ourselves and others by forgiving rather than judging." # 6
I was judging a teenager yesterday who was sitting in an area for seniors and the disabled. Normally, playing the Capt. I was, I would have said something. However, this time, I saw the bus was crowded and possibly when he had arrived, the other seats were filled. Plus, he did put his backpack between his legs, and the bus was emptying. So I dropped my judgements and my controlling Capt. Ron and became much more peaceful as a result.

Be a guard and a guide...

Sweet Wise WW 11 Combat Medic in VA Hospice - I CAN'T STOP LOVING YOU

The sweet man WW11's combat medic, who I sit with in the VA Hospice, favorite song is "I can't stop loving you." while he is thinking of his children and ex-wives (one died tragically in mental health hospital with schizophrenia, the other was a First American! I tell him "don't try, LOVE is the part of you that will last forever." He is very proud he had One "First American" grandmother and one Jewish. He say they used to sit together holding hands, and on the Native side, they say on the ground. He is also proud that he helped write the first "Equal Rights Amendment."

Ron Alexander Thanks Angel of Joy, Pema is one of my fav. teachers - going to lead a book group on her AWAKENING LOVING-KINDNESS plus BEYOND FEAR by Aseesha and Kokomon Clottey!

Being satisfied with what we already have is a magical golden key to being alive in a full, unrestricted and inspired way. One of the major obstacles to what is traditionally called enlightenment is resentment, feeling cheated, holding a grudge about who you are, where you are, what your are.
